Ok, someone share the news from the weekend for all of that were stuck here in H.Town.

For those who have not heard, we had beautiful weather here in CA, while your part of Texas was getting dumped on by rain and thunder showers.

I don't want to spoil the good news, but there may some California "bling" headed back to Houston.

There are many stories that will need to be shared.

Hey Blair! I will be forwarding an email to you from Barry (update re HH). I sent it to everyone I thought who was not in LB. I thought you went to LB (even with your broken arm!)...sorry...I'll forward the email to you now...

if there is anybody else out there who wants the update, let me know...Our paddlers might take awhile to update us with their blings. As I've heard there was a wild party after the victory. I am sure everybody was asleep in the plane today

Well just a quick summary of the weekend.

(Which i didnt want to end)

As far as the races-

We placed on all of our divisions.

MAXimum Heat(Womens)- Kicked ass (Placement- Albert has details)

Thunder Heat(Mens)- Placed 4th

HH Mixed- 1st in our division baby!!!!
(We adopted Dragon Max'es strategy and beat all other boats in the final race by a whole boat and half- 10 seconds!!!!)...Thanks to their coach- Roger.

So the men came home with 2 bling bling and the bad ars women came home with 3 bling blings!!!!

We all got to participate in some good races and our spirits were high!

Sunday was fast paced and we didnt eat lunch until 3pm but it was still a GREAT day!

There is so much to say on this summary that it won't become a summary but rather an epic so i will only write a few more choice comments.

I learned a few things on this trip and had loads of fun. We got to hang out in LA, Santa Monica, eat some good food, relax at the beach, learn some new techniques and strategies, met some new great people, found clones of some Houston Heat'ers, learned some new dance moves from Winston, Albert, Coach Albert, and Patrick ...and so and so on...I'll leave some things so we can share in person.

I also would like to thank our hosts Barry, Irwin and the LA Thunder Dragons. They showed us that Southern hospitality is not only in the south. Their warm welcome made all the difference. They helped us have a great time at the races and outside of the races.

I had a wonderful and memorable time with everyone and am glad to have had the chance to get to know some of you a lil better!

Ummm.. Other than what Loc mentioned (though, I am not sure about some of the results). I believe:

Woman's 500 m - 4th place overall.
Mixed 500m - 1st place
Mixed 200m - 4th.


Oh yeah, you did miss a great view.
Nice, tall, buff, caramel eyes... Umm, I mean sunny skies, clear water, etc.

Btw, somebody came up to me and he said he knew me through you or something like that. Person knew my name (don't know if the person heard someone say it ), but the person never introduced himself. Anyway, just wondering if you know who I am talking about.

Congratulations, Houston Heat! I wasn't able to make the trip to Long Beach with the rest of the DragonMax team, but there was nothing but high praise for how well you did...even coach Rodger was impressed (and probably made us work even harder in practice today...thanks... ). I know Berman (our unofficial "ambassador") has been trying to recruit some of us to go to Houston in October...can't guarantee anything, since some of us may be tapped out by then (we're traveling to Victoria, BC in two weeks), but you just never know...

Long Beach? What are WE talking about?

Actually, I just got back and will write up something of a summary from our Long Beach experience. I do have to say that words cannot compare to what the experience of being there and "in the moment".

All I can say at this time and hour is that Houston Heat definitely stepped it up when it counted. Fun has always been a prat of our vocabulary but when asked upon, each member contributed to the success!!!

Now....I'm in California time and better head off to bed.
