San Francisco Race 2006/08/30 22:20
Hello my fellow paddlers! Simon (the guy who steered for us once in the nationals) put up a team to race in San Francisco on Sept 23-24. I was so undeservingly invited to paddle with his team. I think this will be a great opportunity for me to learn and gain more experience. Simon also said that this is the fastest DB team he has ever organized to compete in SF, so I think this will be a very competitive team.

He told me that there is still an opening for a female and a male paddler. I would like to extend the invitation to all of you. Please let me know if you are interested to join me, so we can fly together. We need to let Simon know asap.

Simon has given me their "strategy" for their start (ha! We will steal it!) and other details. If possible, please let me know by tomorrow, August 31.

Sorry for the long post

Victorina

Vic,

Simon asked you too?! He joined us for dinner Saturday night after the races and invited our entire table to go as well. He gave us awesome tips and critiqued our team's performance. We'll share with the rest of the team.

Although we would be going as alternates, it would be an awesome experience!

I also had dinner with Sbui and Simon that night, and I agree that Simon's tips and advice were great. He's definitely very knowledgeable about DB racing and the DB community, so I really appreciated him sharing all that info with us.

Loved his steersman hat, too!

Mas and I are going to steal their techniques and bring it back to Houston!

I am sure we will learn a lot. Simon said there are 3 Canadians in our team who just recently did the World Dragon Boat Race, so this will really be a good learning experience.

We should all paddle with other teams and then steal their techniques...hehehe....

We will represent!

Go Houston Heat!

I dont know, Si. They might re-open the Alcatraz just for me and Mas!

I am hoping if that ever happens, Houston Heat will rescue us (Mission Impossible style) (Oh, I can hear the theme song playing now)

If ever you guys decide to rescue us, please hurry up because I heard there are ghosts in Alcatraz

Hidy Ho HH!
My home team is XtremeNY (www.xtremeny.com). I was paddling along with two of your fellow houston hotties this past weekend in SF. Just wanted to say hi and I'll be meeting y'all (just trying out my texan ) when I get out there for the october regatta and some practices as I will be in town to work for a couple months.

Hey Wilson! Is this you? Of course, you are most welcome to practice with us and then we will steal the paddling techniques of the New Yorkers.

I can see that you have created an account in our website. You can sign up for any of the practices that we have. See you in October!

To HH, Mas and I are compiling things that we have learned from the race in SF, and we will share them with you after we've finalized it. There were so many people there (total of 120 teams)!
