Help Needed? 2008/09/15 18:07
Hey, everyone. Hope you all weathered the storm alright, and don't have too much damage. I was lucky and walked away with no damage at all down here in Clear Lake, and power just came back up an hour a little while ago. If any of you need help with repairs or cleanup, please let me know. I'd be happy to help out in any way that I can, and hopefully we can put groups of teammates together if needed and help each other out.

glad to see u made out alright, Josh! How does Clear Lake look?

I also can help if anyone is in need. My shop power is still off and can't do anything until it is on.

I am getting tired of all you people with power and water rubbing it all in my face! My apartment has been without both and I miss my bed so badly! Just ask my back!

On a good note, I heard Swirl is open! Let's schedule a team practice there!

Be safe out there and remember to conserve gas.

Chainsaw anyone? 2008/09/16 09:49
Anyone have a spare chainsaw? I echo the offer of help to anyone that needs it in our HH family. I may be calling some of you guys and gals for a little clean-up in my backyard- we've got a large tree down. I've discovered that raking debris is similar to paddling, very aerobic and good resistance training. Hope everyone is safe. Brian

PS- Please keep checking the website if you're able to- we may have a water practice before the weekend (Water Sports complex).

Clear Lake has seen better days. I checked the docks on the ramp today and the two that we normally use are still there. The third is halfway gone. There is a lot of debris in and around the parking lot. Just down the road is completely destroyed, and Clear Lake Park is being used to deliver supplies.

I don't have a chainsaw, but I do have a hammer, and arms and legs, if that's useful to anyone.

Jeff, we don't need an act of God for you to lose water and power. I know where you live!

P.S.
Trees fall over onto houses all the time ...

(J/K everyone! You know I would never wish ill will on anyone -- especially Jeff. Just trying to bring a little levity to the situation. Be safe!)

I'm back and can help. I do not have a chain saw but can operate one. I have a couple of hand saws. From working in my neighborhood I can confirm that with enough people no job is too large.
