Houston Heat salutes all the NASA men and women who were involved either directly or indirectly in America’s manned spaceflight program from Mercury to the last shuttle mission STS-135. America has experienced all the emotional highs and lows from a program that fueled our dreams and sense of adventure in exploring the unknowns. The brave men and women who did not return left a legacy for future generations to be the best they can be in making spaceflight safer and more reliable. There are many who will face uncertainty in the job market as the final mission is completed and we hope this will be tempered with news of future projects.
Houston Heat is proud to boast a NASA connection and we congratulate several teammates not only for their dedication to NASA, but also putting in all on the line on a competitive level as they paddled with HH in many dragon boat festivals throughout our existence. Some of our NASA connection have unique skills and talents and are part of a much bigger team that kept us enthralled with space exploration while raising the bar on astronaut safety. PADDLES UP for HH teammates - Rachel, Kristen, Laura, Josh, Charlotte and Joel … we salute you for a job well done and wish all of you continued success in your capacity with NASA.
