Sports have always been a major part of my life.  Whether it's at the individual or team level, I've experienced and learned many life lessons through sports.  Dragon boating is a great example of a sport that signifies teamwork through effort, dedication, and determination.  Every member, from the pacers to the engine to the rockets, is equally vital to the success of the boat.  There's no greater drive, than the knowledge of your teammates relying on your determination to succeed.  That's what separates dragon boating from any other sport: your team's success is dependent on 100% of your effort, 100% of the time.  Life is no different in that the passion you put forth is what you get in return. 

For over five years, I've enjoyed and seen the sport of dragon boating expand and gain in tremendous popularity.  It brings a great deal of delight for me to be able to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport.  Even better, are the many wonderful people I have met along the way, who have also taught me a lot in return.  I'll look forward to the day Houston Heat can present a premier team not only nationally, but also internationally.  Paddles Up!
